Clay Trainer Design

Two of my Y9 groups were taught a project whereby students had to look inwards and create a mind map about themselves and their interests.
The project began with some drawing skill exercises from worksheets. This lead to them researching some trainers and designing their own versions based on their mind map.
Designs were sketched out in pencil and pencil crayons before moving onto clay.

Pupils were provided with a paper template to cut out their clay, which enabled them with the parts to build a 3D trainer, which was fired and painted in watercolour.
