The Shoe Project
Tring School
2025
As a baseline assessment for the new Y7 group, the class were asked to remove a shoe and draw it without any instruction. The following lesson they were asked to repeat the shoe drawing this time with guidance. The improvement of the results were remarkable in some cases.
For the 3rd and 4th lessons, students were tasked with creating a 3D paper sculpture of their shoe using black sugar paper, tape, scissors and a glue stick and. The project stretched pupils to think about de/re-construction techniques, developed their problem solving skills and encouraged independent learning and thinking.
This was an enjoyable task for pupils of all needs and abilities as adaptive practices were put in place for all learners.
