A Scheme of Work that I created for my Y10s Summer Term.
The project begins with Questioning about how students think of architecture - not just as a building but as a place that functions, lives and breathes.

This begins with some sketchbook work on Artists Research. As the temperature warmed up the lessons moved to Architectural Photography, with students discovering Digital Photography and Digital Image manipulation.
Their work was then heavily manipulated into mosaics as well as Graphic Design.

Their photos were supposed to become Cyanotype prints, but the weather brought us indoors and onto creating a cardboard sculpture of a building. The theme being ‘The whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ by Aristotle with photos of the Cinque Terra, Italy to inspire their builds.

The Y10s found this project really liberating, and by far and away that both my students and I looked forward to the most when it came around in the timetable. This SoW is a keeper
