Colour theory

Both Tring and Astley Cooper have created the opportunity for me to teach colour theory lessons using two distinctly different methods. One school teaches pupils to create their own colour wheel from scratch in their sketchbooks. The other prefers a worksheet. Both schools introduce painting with watercolours and to strictly use the Primary Colours only to create their Secondary and Tertiary/Intermediate colours.

At Astley Cooper School, the colour wheel was followed by replicating a self portrait from a choice of Henri Matisse, Emil Nolde, Matt Sesko, with an emphasis on matching the colours correctly as well as scale and proportions.
